Only orange and red alerts appear here. The source feed carries several hundred events at a time, but 98% are graded green — meaning no significant humanitarian impact is expected — and listing them would bury the handful that matter. Each row links to the full report.
Earthquakes
Not a climate signal. Earthquakes are tectonic — they are not caused by warming and they are not part of the trend the rest of this site measures. They are here because readers watching for disasters look for them, and they are kept in their own section so nothing implies otherwise.

How to read this page
- Alert level is about impact, not size. A red flood alert means a large affected population, not necessarily a large flood. A remote fire of the same area can be graded green.
- Absence is not safety. An event only appears once it crosses a modelling threshold. Slow-onset harm — heat, drought in a wealthy country — is systematically under-represented against sudden, visible disasters.
- These are alerts, not outcomes. Losses on the extreme events page are settled figures compiled months later. Nothing on this page has been through that process yet.
